Taco Bell is Introducing the Taco Lover’s Pass
Say hello to the world’s first-ever taco subscription service. Taco Bell announced on January 6, that it will offer fans a whole new way to access the brand’s number one menu item exclusively through the Taco Bell App offering customers 30 tacos for 30 days. Now you can plan your bowel movements thirty days out – great!
Available starting today exclusively on the Taco Bell app, the Taco Lover’s Pass allows customers to redeem one of seven types of tacos a day for 30 consecutive days at participating U.S. locations, all for the price of $10. Pass price may vary by the pickup location you select. Redemptions must be made via the Taco Bell Mobile App for in-restaurant pick up at a participating location.

After signing up through the app, the user can order from a menu of different taco options, including the classic crunchy taco, the spicy potato soft taco, and Doritos Locos tacos. At ten dollars for thirty tacos a month, meanwhile food costs are skyrocketing – it’s one hell of a deal. Taco Bell market tested the idea at nearly twenty different Arizona locations earlier last year.

The fast-food chain is not the first to offer a subscription service though. Panera offers unlimited iced and hot coffee, and unlimited hot tea for just $8.99 a month, then there’s Olive Garden with its ‘Never Ending Pasta Pass’ promotion. Restaurant subscription services seem to be on the rise, especially with diners limiting their presence at physical eateries. It’s more critical than ever for restaurants to guarantee repeated patrons.
Yum Brands (YUM), which owns the fast-food chain, said last year that it’s aiming to grow digital sales with more exclusives. Yum Brands said that app users enrolled in its loyalty program spend 35% more compared prior to joining. Are subscription services the future of eating out?
