Air Heads Xtremes Rainbow Berry Review

AirHeads Xtremes Sweetly Sour Candy Bites Rainbow Berry

Have you ever looked at a product and thought “that title is entirely too long and really, how can anyone find it somewhere else without calling it the wrong thing?” Hot take: maybe the company is avoiding reviews that aren’t favorable. In any case, my sweet tooth came knocking and you know I’ve gotta keep this tremendous figure. I caved and bought AirHeads Xtremes Sweetly Sour Candy Bites Rainbow Berry (don’t run out of breath before saying the title, challenge).

As a child of the 90s, an Airhead strip thing (cause why use the title when we can use fun words instead) was a typical Saturday morning breakfast before firing up the SNES to play Chrono Trigger. Naturally, this leads me to come back to candy and try it out and see if they’re still doing it right. If this makes me the AirHead, so be it.

With a title like AirHeads Xtremes Sweetly Sour Candy Bites Rainbow Berry, it doesn’t start well and finishes even rougher. Has AirHeads packaged something close to mind-blowing? Or am I listening to another candy tell me about how it peaked high school? Let’s find out.

Nutrition Facts: AirHeads Xtremes Sweetly Sour Candy Bites Rainbow Berry

The packaging and coloring of AirHeads Xtremes Sweetly Sour Candy Bites Rainbow Berry themselves is bright and vivid as to be expected. Here’s what you can expect as you ingest a 12-piece serving this candy: 120 calories, 1g total fat, 15mg sodium, 28mg total carbohydrates, 21g total sugars, and 21g added sugars.

Nutritionally it isn’t that bad, but remember it is candy. Candy is sugar, so snack responsibly.

If AirHeads Made A Hot Air Balloon, Would You Take It For A Ride?

You open the bag of AirHeads Xtremes Sweetly Sour Candy Bites Rainbow Berry to many small square rainbows greeting you with leaps of color and good vibes. They are coated with the requisite sugar and must have malic acid in there somewhere, right? A bite of one of these reveals a very tough texture and a lackluster sour. However, it has a nice polishing of licorice, which I don’t like, for the final taste.

To make sure this wasn’t just a one-bite or a one-piece phenomenon, I ate the entire recommended serving size.

It continued to be much the same. AirHeads Xtremes Sweetly Sour Candy Bites Rainbow Berry are not soft, to call them bites seems a bit underselling, perhaps chomps would be more fitting? The sour just really never steps in. To be blunt, Lemonheads and sour cherries put these to shame, especially for the jaw strength required.

Although they have a nice sweet flavor, it is almost blue raspberry singing the lead for these candies and that seems to be the trend for candies these days. I would likely re-gift these if someone got them for me and I’d give them a soft 1/10, only because the only way something is a zero is if you haven’t tried it.

There are better sour candies for less cost and there are certainly more promising licorices than what I found in this bag.
